Hi ! I’m Mathieu. I am a 25-year-old French guy, who used to live in the north of France. I am now in Paris, where I teach English in a high school.
My mother tongue is French, so it may happen (and it will) that you find some grammar mistakes in my texts, but I do my best to avoid them. I have recently decided to add articles in French, as I do love to write in both languages.
I love reading, writing, photography, and talking to people. I also like to travel. Another one of my passions is coffee, and when I travel, I always try to find the best independent café. In recent years, I lived in England where I worked as a receptionist and then as a French language assistant, as well as in Ireland, where I spent a year as an Erasmus student, in University College Dublin.
I studied English litterature and history, and then focused on linguistics. To be precise, I love to investigate the different accents of English, especially of Irish dialects. I hope to start a PhD soon.
Recently, I have started to write a novel in French, La Boutique Du Sommeil, which is sort of a thriller. It is a work in progress, and I hope I will have the strength and time to finish it.
Finally, I wish I was more disciplined, as I would love to create more art (poetry, painting, photography), but I guess it is something I have to work on.
There’s not much left to say about me, so I’m leaving you with one of my favourite poems, as well as my posts to read.
